Types of Orchids – Terrestrial and Epiphytic
There are about 25,000 known species and more than 100,000 hybrids of orchids today. However many these species are, orchids can only be subdivided into two types, terrestrial orchids and epiphytes or epiphytic orchids. Terrestrial orchids are those that grow on the ground while epiphytes are those that grow on trees, rocks, or poles.
